SENIOR MANAGER

Based in greater Washington, DC, Zara Nguyen works as a Senior Manager in Facktor's Finance division. Nguyen specializes in interim engagements, external audits, workflow and systems optimization. Nguyen has 20 years of progressive finance and accounting experience. Prior to joining Facktor, Nguyen worked in the capacity of Controller and other leadership positions for two FQHCs including Waikiki Health and other nonprofit organizations including the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington (DC). Nguyen has been responsible for external financial audits, single audits, retirement plan audits (401k, 403b), Form 990 income tax returns, monthly closing, financial statement presentation according to US GAAP, annual budgeting process, payroll management and grants management. She also worked on process improvements including new systems implementation, automation, scaling, and digitization of work processes. Prior to her career in private accounting, Nguyen worked for two accounting firms specializing in tax preparation.

Nguyen earned her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Business Data Analytics from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Hawaii, Manoa. Outside of the office, Nguyen enjoys fitness, wellness, exploring new eateries, traveling, and playing with her Hawaiian-born Australian Shepherd dog, Mokuleualunaleilani.
