MANAGING DIRECTOR

Based in Hawaii, Shigeyuki “Shige” Murota leads the Facktor's Finance division, bringing a unique blend of healthcare expertise and financial acumen. With extensive experience in healthcare administration, finance, and management, Murota has supported multiple Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in interim and fractional Chief Financial Officer roles, guiding organizations through leadership transitions, financial restructuring, and operational scaling. Combining firsthand experience with patients and care coordination, Murota delivers data-driven strategies that strengthen financial performance, optimize operational efficiency, and enhance patient outcomes, while ensuring compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations.

Before joining Facktor, Murota served as an occupational therapist and rehabilitation director across diverse healthcare environments, including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, home health agencies, and retirement communities. Murota has also volunteered with a hospice agency and contributed his leadership as a board member for Yu-Ai Kai Japanese American Community Senior Service.

Murota earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of California Berkeley Haas School of Business and a both a Master and Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the San Jose State University College of Applied Sciences and Arts. Outside of work, Murota enjoys outdoor sports, exploring global cuisines and beverages, live music, and film.
