Iris Weil, MHA
SENIOR ADVISOR
Based in Santa Fe, NM, Iris Weil is part of Facktor’s Value & Quality division. Weil is a recognized healthcare leader with nearly 35 years of experience in the business of medicine, including managed care operations. She has vast knowledge on the provider and payer side of healthcare management. Weil has guided many health plan contract negotiations and successfully obtained managed care contracts for commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid populations for various IPAs.
Weil was the Executive Director of the HCLA IPA from August 2015 until July 2021, with a membership of over 500,000 patient members. HCLA continues to be the largest IPA in California, serving the underserved population of Los Angeles County. She reported to the Board of Directors of the IPA and was involved in day-to-day operations, which included medical management, strategic planning for the organization, and a fiduciary responsibility to a budget of over half a billion dollars. She was also the liaison between MedPoint Management and the IPA.
Weil served as Vice President for Business Operations for Regal Medical Group in Northridge, California. There she was responsible for strategic planning for all functional departments of this large medical management company, including budget and fiscal management, business development, clinical practice oversight, patient retention activities, provider relations, and physician education. Her other responsibilities included the implementation of Electronic Health Records in the staff model practices that Regal owned.
Weil has held positions at several other healthcare organizations including Chief Operating Officer at Adventist Health Southern California Medical Foundation, Vice President of Operations for Heritage Provider Network, and Chief Executive Officer for Family Care Specialists Medical Group. Weil served as a Senior Manager with The Camden Group for two and a half years and left in 2011 to begin Longdale Medical Management, her own company in healthcare consulting. Currently, she is a consultant to HCLA on various managed care operational requirements: FQHC quality management, coding, and documentation and operational workflows related to patient outreach to meet Health Plan and IPA HEDIS Measure goals.
Weil is currently a board member of two nonprofit organizations, the Reiss Davis Graduate Center and the National Turner Syndrome Camp, both located in Los Angeles. She earned a Master’s in Public Administration and Planning at New York University School of Public Administration and her Bachelor’s at Queens College.
